Welcome to Social Advocacy Youth for Peace- Rwanda, An organization promoting social development
Social Advocacy Youth for Peace- Rwanda (SAYP) is a non-governemental, non-profit and youth organization based in Southern province of Rwanda. We strive to improve both the living standards and development services for all Rwandans through advocacy, education, and training. SAYP was founded by a dedicated group of Rwandan youth studying in Universities and secondary schools across the country. This diverse group of young people was united by a shared commitment to improve the living standards of disadvantaged communities.
The work of SAYP is multisectorial and multidisciplinary in nature extending from health to income generating projects passing by human rights and gender equality. At SAYP, we are passionate about sustainable development, the realization of the Millennium Development Goals and the promotion of a culture of peace and universal human rights for all. SAYP aims at promoting socio economic, cultural, environmental and human development in Rwanda. SAYP is conducting activities on poor and helpless people of the community in the area of health, poverty alleviation, rural development, gender issues, human rights, formal and informal education, human resource development and training, etc.
SAYP is a grass-root organization in the country set up with the aims:
- To involve the rural youth in nation building activities;
- To develop their values and skills so that they become productive, responsible citizens of a modern.
- To work towards promoting atmosphere where all, irrespective of caste, color, sex or religion, find equal opportunity to serve the
nation;
- To pursue resource self-sufficiency;
- To form village level voluntary action groups of youths for rendering SAYP service program;
- To utilize SAYP volunteers for carrying on development and promotion programs in the priority sectors of employment generation, literacy and family welfare especially for women.
